You guys all remember my previous spazzing-out journal entry of me finishing my first ever anime, Yu Yu Hakusho?
PREPARE FOR ANOTHER ONE - 'CAUSE I JUST FINISHED YU-GI-OH!
Gah, I still have tears running down my face just from watching the finale. First off, I want to thank my two good friends Hoshi-sama and Elliot for getting me in to Yu-Gi-Oh! - if it weren't for Hoshi's fangirling (mostly over Bakura and Seto), and Elliot's brilliant duelling strategics that he showed me, I would never have found this awesome anime.
I got in to YGO waaaaaaay back at the start of this year - well, around February or so. It all started when Hoshi mentioned Bakura - by Bakura I mean Yami Bakura - in a few of our 'MSNTube' chats (just our name for our group of friends ^_^). I asked who he was, so she sent a picture of him. At the time, I only had eyes for Pokémon, so I just said, "He's pretty cute," and forgot about it.
About a week later, though, Hoshi started telling me about something called Yu-Gi-Oh! the Abridged Series. At the time, I had found a few abridged series of Pokémon, such as SolBlade00's PTAS. Hoshi told me YGOTAS was created by a man named LittleKuriboh, more commonly known as LK - the name rang a bell, as SolBlade00 had created a tribute to him before.
So, I watched his series - AND ADORED IT.
It wasn't 'till around March when I began watching the real Yu-Gi-Oh!. I had been looking at fanfics and fanarts of the show for a while, so I thought, "Hey, why not watch it?". It was the same night that LK's episode, 'Single White Shemale' (episode 37) had aired. It just kind of snapped within me that I HAD to watch it to gain more knowledge about it.
And so, I cleared the first two seasons without difficulty - by that time, it was May. In the sudden rush of having SATs to contend with, I completely forgot about YGO, though I remained faithful to LK's YGOTAS.
But, halfway through the summer holidays, I was browsing through my favourites when I came across an episode of YGO - it was just when season 3, the Noah Arc (no pun intended) had started. So I thought, 'I might as well get back in to it,', a little half-heartedly - it had been a long time since I'd seen the actual show, and I'd forgot what it was really like.
My fandom began once again.
Once completing season 3, or at least, the Noah part of season 3, I had a time period where I forgot about it again - I'd just started secondary school, so I didn't have much time for YGO. However, a few people at school liked YGO too - one of them even lended me a few of his YGO cards. He was going to let me keep them, but I turned them down, wanting to build my own deck eventually.
After a month or so of my new school I got back in to YGO AGAIN...I remember the very episode restarting, the Kaiba vs Yami duel, right before Marik (Yami Marik, that is) was defeated. From thereon, I didn't stop watching YGO, and it brought me to now.

*Whistles* Whew, there's a heck of a lot of history behind this, eh?
Okay, so perhaps the other statement was a bit wrong...during the summer holidays, between season 3 and the end of the Battle City tournament, I got in to Yu Yu Hakusho - as you know, I finished that a day or two before I had to start secondary school. So, I didn't COMPLETELY dedicate myself to Yu-Gi-Oh!. But hey - I've completed two amazing animes, and I'm not complaining!
Thanks again to all of my friends having to bear the brunt of my YGO fangirlishness, to LK for his awesome episodes, to the voice actors of YGO, and of course, Kazuki Takahashi himself for creating the actual manga.
